What To Do In Winder, GA

Fort Yargo - without a doubt one of the best parks in the north east Georgia is Fort Yargo. Fort Yargo is a large park with at least 2 sections. One is the large day recreation area and another is the campground. There is a 7 mile loop which winds around the lake with spectacular water views as well as beautiful forest scenery. There are picnic areas, boat landings, bike trails, plenty of parking and it is all pet friendly (on leash). The water was just perfect for swimming. Tthe beach/swimming area isn't usually crowded and is rather clean. There is stand-up paddle boards (rented at a very reasonable 10.70 per hour), and paddleboats (10.70 for the boat). Kayaks and canoes are also available to rent as well. There's hiking, mini-golf, disc golf, camping, and other activities on site,
